BEAUTIFUL STAINLESS STEEL
If you want cookware that can last you a lifetime, Stainless Steel is a very good choice. This cookware has many benefits besides it's longevity. There is nothing to get in the way of the flavor of your food. It is the purest and most sanitary choice you can make (we'll discuss waterless, which is stainless steel as well, further on).
There has been much talk in the news about non-stick cookware surfaces perhaps being a health hazard. With stainless, you don't have to worry about that. Most foods will not stick to stainless provided when frying you preheat your pan, then add your butter or oil. If it does stick, a little bit of soaking will take care of it. And of course, stainless steel is dishwasher safe. You can also have the best of both worlds, we also have stainless steel sets that come with non-stick skillets.
What are the drawbacks, if any? Stainless steel cookware can be very heavy to lift, especially the larger pieces when they're filled with soup or stews. But, unless you have arthritis or weak wrists, it can usually be handled without too much difficulty.
NUTRITIOUS WATERLESS COOKWARE
Waterless cookware is made from stainless steel, but, it is very different in some very important ways. It has specially designed lids that form a tight seal as food cooks. This keeps the steam that normally would escape inside the pan. Therefore, you cook with just a minute fraction of the water you would use with other cookware. Instead of minerals and vitamins going down the drain, as an example when you're cooking vegetables, the nutrients and flavors stay in your food. Because the steam helps to cook the food, it cooks quickly and at a much lower temperature.
Since this is such a moist method for cooking food, you don't have to use the butter and oils that you normally would to lubricate the pan. That is why "waterless" cooking is so much healthier. So, not only does it taste better, have more vitamins, but, it can have far fewer calories as well. Another added advantage is stack cooking, once your pans come to temperature, they can be placed on top of one another to finish cooking, saving energy and burner space. These pans are that efficient.
What are the drawbacks to waterless cooking, if any? This method just takes a little getting used to, once you adjust, you'll wonder why you didn't do this sooner. So if you are health conscious and want to serve you and your family tasty, nutritious meals, this is the cookware for you.
